Default Adjustment to unlucky title

The point cap for unlucky is 2x higher relative to the lucky title.

Although I really don't mind grinding (I'm currently running 300 NM chests / day), maxing unlucky requires that one breaks 20k lockpicks. In HM, that's something like picking 25-30k chests if you start from scratch (more if you have several ranks in lucky). >.>

In comparison, lucky only requires that you retain a pick on 10k chests---not that hard, especially in NM.

My suggestion is that you make the two titles equal by removing rank 7 from unlucky and making the cap 250k instead of 500k.
The alternative is to double the cap for lucky, but I doubt too many people would love that. >.>

I'm pretty sure someone is going to flame me for a "stupid" idea, but GG---try running chests. ^.^

I agree, 500k is ridiculous. It's one of the titles I may never max =(

It's good to see guildies backing each others ideas.

Anyways, /notsigned

When this was implemented it was during the Canthan New Year festival with the Rings were you got tickets and if you were in the right ring you would win X amount of tickets. If you lost you lost the amount of tickets you were betting. There were rings that bet 10 tickets and the other one bet like 1 ticket I think. You lost alot of tickets fast that way so it was easier to get Unlucky points then Lucky points. That is why the Unlucky track has a higher cap.

Yes, it really is nice when guildies back you up. ^.^
Anyways, according to this analysis on wiki, you gain lucky 1.7 times faster than unlucky in 9 rings and 1.4 times faster in rings of fortune.
IE. it is far easier to gain lucky in the canthan festivals. It's far easier to gain unlucky by CRing hard mode; however, you still grind 2 times longer than lucky.

/notsigned. you'd be lucky if it was switch, and that wouldn't be very unlucky :P

But, although I wouldn't mind an easier title, so many people that don't have it would be like "omg think of those that spent all that money getting it", and for once I'd like to follow the noobwagon.

Flame. This idea is just stupid. There you go. And oh yeah, I'm running chest and I'm just 200 chests shy of Grandmaster Treasure Hunter.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother going to Sardelac when the dissenting responses from some people are the equivelant of "/notsigned, You suck" (that is to say, not saying why any given idea is bad, but saying something derogatory instead).

a) You need sarcasm detector. Seriously.
b) Your idea is not going to happen if you like it or not. Either way you change the title is going to piss some people off.
c) Titles are optional. This one brings no benefits and has no skills linked to it. If you don't like it/is too hard/is boring/expensive fell free to skip it.
d) If you don't like people disagreeing with you in a whole range of ways than why even posting in Sardelac?

You need a dictionary, seriously. (try cynicism. Sarcasm would have been "this is the best idea I've ever read! /notsigned" durr) Sarcasm detector...lol (maybe you could use one).

It's an idea for general consideration. GG (for both B/C)

I don't really mind people disagreeing with me at all. Assassin put up a decent response as to why it's not a good change---I agree with him on that. Your response was just simply a flame which added no substance for a counterpoint.

Don't see sarcasm in it as well ..

OP:
small adjustment would be nice, however I atm have got 5x as much unlucky points as lucky. Either I am just unlucky, or it isn't that hard to get.

Agreed - I've got way more unlucky than lucky, as well. Maybe I just suck that bad... *shrugs*

Well, anyway, Mirko has a point - there are no benefits and the title is entirely optional. It's also not hard to get, just takes for-freakin-ever.

So yeah, /notsigned

Rank Title Games lost
1 Hapless 5,000
2 Unlucky 10,000
3 Unfavored 25,000
4 Tragic 50,000
5 Wretched 100,000
6 Jinxed 250,000
7 Cursed by Fate
(Max level) 500,000

Lucky
1 Charmed 50,000
2 Lucky 100,000
3 Favored 250,000
4 Prosperous 500,000
5 Golden 1,000,000
6 Blessed by Fate
(Max level) 2,500,000

Seems like they are set up fairly good except for the last Unlucky title. They are set up to where the Unlucky number times 10,000. So even by gaining it 1.4 or 1.7 faster it still won't even completely out. You are still behind if you do just the rings for the Lucky title. Yes retaining a Lockpick may give you a ton more points then when you break one but you don't need as many points to get Unlucky. The Lucky title gives improves your chance to retain a lockpick, the Unlucky title is just a title. It doesn't really matter. It's just a title to max.

/Agreed

Last Unlucky Title sucks... but grinding titles is a tedious process in general. Why does everyone complain about the system? It works... it is static and doesn't change. Grind... get your titles... and then when you get your new title... dance on the stairs leaving Luts so we all see you!

You can't compare tickets to games.
You have to win tickets (expensive) and lose games (cheap). This is what I imagine justifies the imbalance.

And imo, AFK ftw, CR ftl. (r5 in both, w00t).

Double lucky while in hard mode.
Double unlucky while in normal mode.

That should make it.

Makes sense. Less chance of keeping it in hard mode, you should get higher lucky points. As it stands, you have less chance of keeping it, but get the same reward. Yipee.

I made a thread suggesting this a long time ago. I am not sure what happened to it. Too many idiots come in and disagree with the stupidest "reasoning" I've ever read, so I tend to avoid this forum.

What about just getting more points towards unlucky when the pick breaks? (Never run chests for this so excuse me if that contain some noob in it )

It could also consider the rate of the chest.

Currently you get the same points from an Ascalonian chest than from a HM locked chest.

The higher the rate to keep the lockpick, the less lucky points you should get, and the more unlucky points, being 250 and 50' the minimum in both cases.
